Kelly Clarkson Confesses To Living The "Life of a Country Singer", Doesn't Conform to Pop Rules

Kelly Clarkson is no ordinary pop star.  Since she first took home the crown at American Idol's debut season, Clarkson has remained true to herself and didn't conform to others expectations.  

The singer herself recently admitted, ""Even though I'm a pop singer, I really have more the life of a country singer."

Clarkson hangs out with celeb friends Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert.  She has three songs that hit the country charts including two duets with Jason Aldean and Reba McEntire.  She is dating country singer Reba McEntire's stepson Brandon Blackstock.  For her 30th birthday, Blackstock took her turkey shooting.

The laid back singer said, "I just blow-dry my hair and put on mascara and lip gloss, and I'm ready to go. I really don't get long nails. They're so Edward Scissorhands."

Just recently, Clarkson made "American Idol" history by beating Carrie Underwood as the best-selling Idol.  To date, Clarkson has sold 24,100,000 digital downloads, and Underwood 22,535,000.  

To be a successful pop singer doesn't require just glam and bubble gums.  Clarkson proves that a beautiful voice and soul is enough.
