All-New Stories, Plus Geof Darrow & Frank Miller’s ‘Big Guy And Rusty The Boy Robot,’ Return For ‘Dark Horse Presents Volume 3!’

Dark Horse Comics has always been a place for readers to meet the next emerging artists and writers that the comic book world has to offer. Featuring the next wave of creators, Dark Horse Presents Volume 3 will be a 48-page book of awesomeness combined into one comic.

In an interview with Comic Book Resources, Dark Horse Comics founder Mike Richardson compares Dark Horse Presents to a box of chocolates, "'Dark Horse Presents, from the beginning, was meant to be a sampler of our whole company. And the three major categories of books that we publish - creator-owned books, licensed books and some company-owned characters - are all represented there. We've always tried to find new voices as well as established talent. Particularly in the latest edition of Dark Horse Presents, we've featured a lot of new talent, but it's also a great place to introduce new characters or preview new licensed book. So it's always a snapshot of our company and showing the kinds of books we like. It represents our philosophy."

- Peter Hogan and Steve Parkhouse's Resident Alien

- Brendan McCarthy's Dream Gang

- Jimmy Palmiotti, Justin Gray, and Andy Kuhn's Wrestling with Demons

- Damon Gentry and Aaron Conley's Sabertooth Swordsman

- David Mack's Kabuki

Also in those installments is an all-new short story starring Big Guy and Rusty the Boy Robot. The popular all-ages title became an animated TV series on FOX Kids. In the same CBR interview with Richardson, Darrow explains his excitement over the Big Guy's return, "I have an idea of what it's going to be. It's kind of funny, I think. I hope. In theory, Frank is going to do the dialogue for me when it's ready. He said he would. He can really put something into it...I don't want people's expectations to be too high. This is just a simple thing."

Dark Horse Presents Vol. 3 #1 will be out in stores on August 20. This is a great spot to meet the best and promising talents in the comic book industry.
