Talk about an awkward Spider-man kiss.
The Amazing Spider-man 2 star Andrew Garfield hosted Saturday Night Live last night and played up the Spider-man angle.
In one of the most hilarious skits from the night, Garfield is joined by his on-screen and off-screen love interest Emma Stone. In the skit, the pair is trying to get the kissing scene right but just can't figure out how to do it. The smooch is suppose to take place at the top of the Brooklyn Bridge but is filmed in front of a green screen. Before the two kiss the director says he "want it to be really memorable."
The kisses feature some awkward ones like the open mouth kiss, the tongue side kiss, the laughing kiss, the blowfish kiss, and the full face-eating kiss.
The Spider-man film series is known for its iconic kissing scenes. The original trilogy starring Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst featured the upside down kiss that is legendary and has been parodied in all aspects of pop culture.
In the end of SNL skit, Coldplay's Chris Martin is the superhero who saves the day. Standing in as Emma Stone's stunt double, he bends Garfield over his knee and plants a big old smackeroo on our Spider-man.
Coldplay also took the stage last night as the musical guests, playing their songs "Magic," and "A Sky Full of Stars."
Stone appeared in Garfield's opening monologue also, where she jumped on stage to tell the host that he was "doing so great," but kept popping up from the audience to give the star more and more advice for how to host even saying "I feel like you should be more self deprecating."
