Monday Night Raw Results 5/5/14: WWE Raw Recap May 5, 2014: The Shield vs. The Wyatt Family, Kane haunts Daniel Bryan

The May 5, 2014 edition of WWE's Monday Night Raw emanates live from the Times Union Center in Albany and begins with the 20-man over the top rope battle royal for the United States Championship. Sheamus wins the title when he Brogue Kicks Dean Ambrose and tosses him out of the ring.

The Shield stands with Ambrose in the ring after the match. Triple H comes out and says the match at Extreme Rules was a war, but says The Shield got lucky. Hunter says their luck is changing now that Ambrose has lost the title and books them against the Wyatt Family for later in the night.

Renee Young interviews Sheamus, who says he's been spinning his wheels since he returned form injury. He says tonight was the night to step back into glory. Renee asks what he would say to Ambrose, and Sheamus replies, "No hard feelings, fella."

Daniel Bryan is backstage with Brie Bella and Stephanie McMahon walks in to congratulate the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. She says all he did was anger Kane last night and tells Bryan to stay put in the locker room until his match later tonight. She leaves, and Kane's mask hangs on the back of the door after she closes it.

Rob Van Dam comes out for his match with Cesaro. Paul Heyman comes out, does his Brock Lesnar schtick and then introduces Cesaro. RVD wins by disqualification when he refuses to answer the referee's five count in the corner. Heyman eventually calls off Cesaro.

Bray Wyatt comes out to the ring with The Wyatt Family and says Abigail always told him he was born to lead and that he would change the world. He believed her, but the world has wicked ways and they would always look down on him. He says those people made this day sweeter for him because last night, he became somebody. John Cena's fear was personified by a singing child. They show a clip of the end of the steel cage match finish from Extreme Rules.

Bray says the children are the foundation of tomorrow and they see right through Cena. Bray says he is a monster and Cena would have everyone believe his message is nothing but a lie, but all he wants is to watch the world burn so that it can be reborn in his image. Bray says he does not do this just for himself, but he does it for the children, the poor, the outcasts and everyone else. He says Cena stands alone now and forever, but Bray is with the people, who will remember him not as a monster but as a god. He drops to his knees and sings "He's Got The Whole World In His Hands."

Ryback (w/Curtis Axel) defeats Cody Rhodes when Goldust tries to get involved but accidentally costs his brother the match.

Brie Bella and Daniel Bryan are backstage when the lights go out in their room. They leave and bump into Stephanie, who offers to have their car brought into the building.

Los Matadores come to the ring to celebrate Cinco de Mayo when 3MB comes out to call a truce. A brawl breaks out and Los Matadores win.

Kofi Kingston is in the ring for a match with Alexander Rusev. Lana comes out and talks about Vladimir Putin, then introduces the Bulgarian Brute. Kofi gets some shots in, but Rusev gets him to tap out to the Accolade.

Daniel Bryan outs Brie Bella in the car and looks around nervously. He gets in and starts the car but Stephanie knocks on the window to tell them they can't leave until Bryan's match, which is right now. If he doesn't fight, then it's a breach of contract and he would be stripped of the title.

Bryan faces Alberto Del Rio and gets him to tap out to the Yes Lock. He and Brie lead a Yes Chant in the ring when Kane's music hits. They run backstage and head straight for their car, but it won't start. Bryan tries to fix it, but Kane is in the back seat and attacks both of them. Bryan manages to drive away after a few attempts.

New Intercontinental Champion Bad News Barrett comes out and says the deformed slobs in the audience were worthy of a champion like Big E., but they need cosmetic surgery to change to be worthy of him. Barrett retains his title in the rematch when he rakes Big E.'s eyes and hits the Bullhammer.

Zeb Colter and Jack Swagger come out with "Zeb's Deportation List," which consists of Cesaro, Heyman, Sheamus, Paige, Emma and Santino. He makes fun of each of them until Adam Rose's music hits. He comes down to the ring with a bunch of colorful characters and tells Zeb to be a "rosebud" instead of a "lemon." Swagger tries to attack but Rose kicks him in the face and throws him over the rope. He starts dancing in the ring with his friends as Colter leaves the ring.

The Shield vs. The Wyatt Family is an all-out war, as usual, and the Hounds of Justice gain the advantage and set up Bray for a triple powerbomb when Evolution's music hits. Ambrose and Rollins take out Batista and Randy Orton, and Reigns nails Triple H with a Superman Punch in the ring. Bray uses the distraction to plant Reigns with Sister Abigail for the win.

Evolution beats down The Shield after the match. Orton hits the hangman's DDT on Rollins, Batista plants Ambrose on the steel steps with a spinebuster and Reigns eats an RKO and a Pedigree. Evolution then triple powerbombs Reigns, whose mouth is bloodied. Evolution poses over their fallen foes as the show goes off the air.
