Image Comics presents a psychedelic paranormal/mystery series that looks like no other comic you have seen before. From the same creators who have brought you the cult hit, Rebel Blood, writer/artist Riley Rossmo and co-writer Alex Link bring readers to a trippy and weird series, Drumhellar Vol.1: Badlands and Bad Trips.

From Image Comic's imprint, Shadowline presents Drumhellar, a weird and surreal series that revolves around paranormal detective Drum Hellar. When Hellar starts experiencing shock-induced visions, he is compelled to pay a visit to a mysterious small town. But this isn't your usual town in South Dakota. Take a step to the wrong corner and you will find yourself running away from flesh-eating bog-men, meeting with ex-girlfriend werewolves, and getting robbed by a psychedelic-stealing demon.

In an Interview with Comic Book Resources, Link describes the protagonist, "Drum is a combination detective and dream traveler. Everything is interesting, and everything is mysterious. That means, at the same time, that the wildest things in the world are par for the course. But in issue #2, he realizes that his deepest mystery is figuring out what kind of person he actually is. It gets scary for him too, before the first five issues are up."

From his official Twitter, Rossmo posts his favorite Drum page:

Rossmo explains the design of the artwork in the series, "Historically I've used more expressive line work on projects. For Drumhellar, I wanted to concentrate on cleaner lines for the sections of the book in which Drum is experiencing normal consensual reality. Then when in altered states of consciousness, I'm more expressive with the mark making. I tried to use color in the same way. When depicting the mundane world, I used fairly representational colors. In states of altered consciousness the colors are more expressive."

From Shadowline's official Twitter, here is where readers can order their copy of Drumhellar Vol.1: Badlands and Bad Trips:

Don't miss out on Drumhellar Vol.1: Badlands and Bad Trips when it hits stores on June 10. Don't miss out on the mystery behind floating babies, prison riots, and ghost triceratops.
