The Ohio State Buckeyes have had a rough NCAA season, yet the team, as always, has created and developed an impressive array of talent. Some of their former heroes will step in to the NFL this weekend, if selected of course. So what does the future hold for Bradley Roby, Carlos Hyde and Ryan Shazier? Can this trio make an instant impact, or will it be some of the lesser known players that steal the show in the pros.
Urban Meyer's men will be hoping to all land in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft, but that's unlikely, with only 1/2 of the famous trio expected to be drafted Thursday night. If one or two of the trio don't hear their names called, they're expected to be taken swiftly in the second round tomorrow night.
LB Ryan Shazier has been predicted to end up in Green Bay, in which he would likely blossom, and help an already impressive team. Bradley Roby is a mysterious one, as he has evident talent, but some are suggested he's a first-round must, but some suggest he could easily be overlooked and then snapped up in the second round. Both the Cleveland Browns and the Dallas Cowboys are interested in Ruby.
What about Carlos Hyde, you ask? A couple of seasons a go he would of likely been a first-round choice, but with running backs becoming less vital, their draft status is reflective of that, too. After the Cleveland Browns drafted (and wasted) a high, first-round pick on Trent Richardson a few years ago, teams are frightened to take the gamble. Hyde would be a first-round player if the depth of this class wasn't so enormous, but no worries for the hard-hitting RB, as he will be snapped up early in the second round, at the very latest.
The Cleveland Browns are keeping a close eye on things: Expect them to grab at least one of these former Buckeyes.
