Along with the cancellations and renewals that came from the CW today, (click here to read the article) the network also announced the new shows that would be making their way onto our TV screens this fall.

CW always has tough decisions to make when it comes to which pilots to pick up to series, last year fan-favorite The Selection, based off the bestselling book of the same name, was not included in their roundup, and this year is no different. The much buzzed about Supernatural spinoff, Supernatural: Bloodlines, which premiered through a backdoor pilot last month, unfortunately didn't make the cut.

However, on the upside, four new shows have been picked up and they sound awesome. The Flash, iZombie, The Messengers, and Jane the Virgin, will be joining CW favorites The Vampire Diaries, Hart of Dixie, Arrow, and Supernatural on the air this year.

The Flash is a spinoff series from the CW's hugely popular show Arrow, starring Grant Gustin (most notable for playing Sebastain) in the titular role. The series comes from the minds behind Arrow, Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisber, and Geoff Johns, and will tell the origin story of one of DC Comics most beloved characters, Barry Allen also known as superhero The Flash. Danielle Panabaker and Carlos Valdes are set to star alongside Gustin. Stars from the short-lived Flash TV series back in the 90's including John Wesley Shipps, Jesse L. Martin and Tom Cavanagh will also be featured in the series.

iZombie comes from the creative mind of Rob Thomas and will also be based on a DC Comic story. The story has a cool twist to zombie lure. Rose McIver will star in the main role as a med student who has turned into a zombie. Lucky for her, her job working at a coroner's office gives her access to an endless supply of human brains. There is a twist though; for every brain that she eats, she will be transported into the memories of the corpse. Robert Buckley, David Anders, Malcolm Goodwin, and Alexandra Krosney also star in this series from the Veronica Mars creator.

The Messengers tells the story of a group of strangers whose lives become intertwined after waking up from a deathlike state to realize that they are responsible for preventing an impending apocalypse. The series comes from Teen Wolf writer Eoghan O'Donnell and will star Diogo Morgado, Joel Courtney and Sofia Black-D'Elia.

Jane the Virgin tells the story of main character Jane who becomes artificially inseminated on accident. Oopsie. The series which is based off of a Venezuelan show will star Gina Rodriguez, Jaime Camil, and Yael Groblas.
