Do you remember waking up on Saturday mornings to the "Frosted Flakes" commercial and hearing Tony the Tiger say the words, "They're Grrrreat!?"
Well MStars has some sad news to report; the voice of Tony the Tiger has died. Lee Marshall passed away of esophageal cancer last month on April 26 at a Santa Monica hospital.
The 64-year-old's son confirmed his father's death to the LA Times. Marshall became the voice of Kellog's in 1999, working full time when the original Tony, Thurl Ravenscroft passed away in 2005 at the age of 91.
The legendary voice over talent got his first job in radio at the age of 14. Marshall revealed that he had an unusual deep voice as a child, which caused him to lie about his age to find a job.
Marshall was also a news radio announcer, as well as an announcer for professional wrestling.
The 64-year-old leaves behind his wife, stepdaughter, and granddaughter.
RIP Lee Marshall.
