Gotye Sings For Famine, Song Chosen For Campaign [VIDEO]

Gotye does a good deed when his song 'Eyes Wide Open' was chosen for a certain charitable campaign made specifically for those who famine.

After sweeping off everyone's feet off with his hit song, 'Somebody That I Used To Know,' another song from the same album had been chosen to serve as the theme song for the annual 40 Hour Famine campaign.

Noise 11 reported the campaign with Gotye's song will be shown in televisions to promote the annual World Vision fundraising project. Simply put, the campaign aims to of raise money to help feed hungry people around the globe.

The campaign this year will give special focus on the drought suffered by the Ethiopians. The 30-second ad will first be seen on coming July 15, while the 40 Hour Famine campaign will be held on August 17 to 19, 2012. World Vision Australia shared their excitement with Gotye's song included over their Facebook account: "We're so excited to have Gotye's track "Eyes Wide Open" on our new 40 Hour Famine TV ad! He generously donated his time and the music rights to the song."

40 Hour Famine was founded in 1975 and held as a yearly charitable event. It moves everyone who choose to join to practice abstinence from the usual things that you do like eating your favourite food or being silent for at least 40 hours.

On the other hand, Gotye is all set for his Aussie tour come December of this year. Check out dates below:

Thursday December 6- Entertainment Centre, Adelaide

Saturday December 8- Sidney Myer Music Bowl, Melbourne

Wednesday December 12- Riverstage, Brisbane

Friday December 14- Entertainment Centre, Sydney
