'Real Housewives of New York' Major Cast Shakeup: Cast Members Begging Bravo to Fire Aviva Drescher and Hire Back LuAnn

The Real Housewives of New York could be getting a major cast shakeup.

RadarOnline reports that Carole Radziwill and Heather Thomson are joining forces to get Bravo executives to fire Aviva Drescher and hire back LuAnn De Lesseps full-time.

Sources close to Andy Cohen have confirmed that the wives are trying to get LuAnn back on the series. An insider told Radar, "They want Andy to give her back that apple. They've been hinting to him that they want LuAnn in and Aviva out."

The show has been trying everything to bring the ratings up for the struggling series, and the addition of LuAnn back might help the starving show.

The network recently made a decision to have Aviva sit out for the past few episodes and surprisingly these episodes have been getting the best ratings of the season. The decision to fire her might only help the ratings further.

But would LuAnn want to return to the series full-time? An insider says "only money stands in the way," of her returning to the cast as a housewife.

LuAnn's reasoning for becoming a minor cast member this season, instead of a housewife, was so she would have more time for her family.

"There's a special place in my heart for the show. I just made the decision to step back, so I can spend more time doing my things with business and my family. I'm still very much a part of the show, but it's not a full-time thing. It's very engulfing when you're on it. It takes up all your mental and physical energy."
