It had been nine long years since English Premier League giants Arsenal last lifted a trophy, yet manager Arsene Wenger remained their manager. After booking their place in today's FA Cup final, many believed Arsenal wouldn't get a better chance at winning a trophy. It started horrifically, with Hull City scoring two goals within the first 8 minutes, making everybody believe it would become a 10-year drought, rather than the nine it was, however the Gunners bounced back, taking the game to extra time.
By extra time Arsenal and Hull were tiring, but Arsenal, being the bigger club, managed to keep going and grabbed the winning goal, breaking the hearts of thousands of Hull fans. Hull will be rewarded with Europa League football for their position as runners-up (and Arsenal already competing in the UEFA Champions League), so it will be deemed a very good season for Hull, yet one that has still finished with heartbreak for all involved with Hull's franchise.
Can Arsenal use this FA Cup win to propel themselves on to bigger and better things, or will this be a one off? Will Arsene stay at Arsenal? After winning he told reporters he would be staying, but would have regardless. After this long awaited victory sinks in, perhaps there will be official confirmation regarding his future.
Can Arsenal strengthen their squad enough to win the Premier League or Champions League next season, or will a domestic cup like the FA Cup be all they can achieve once again?
