The May 19, 2014 edition of WWE's Monday Night Raw emanates from the O2 Arena in London. Bray Wyatt opens the show singing "He's Got The Whole World" in the ring. He talks about how we are superheroes in our dreams, but then we wake up and reality sets in. He says everything is wrong and he plans on fixing that.
He talks about a teacher he once had who reminded him he was a piece of trash and knew he was evil. Now, she is rotting in a retirement home, but he is here as a conqueror with the whole world in his hands. The crowd sings the song, and Bray calls this his payback. He says he is the necessary evil that must exist to balance out everything.
He says he offers the people hope from men like Cena, who hides behind a plastic smile. Bray promises to be the last man standing at Payback, but tonight Luke Harper will put down Cena.
Cena's music cuts them off and Harper and Erick Rowan immediately leave the ring and head toward the ramp. Cena comes through the crowd and hits Bray with an Attitude Adjustment, then immediately dashes up the ramp to avoid the other two Wyatt Family members. He smiles from the stage as Harper and Rowan attend to Bray.
Paul Heyman comes out with Cesaro. Heyman lays down in the ring and says he is Elizabeth lying down dead and making Charles the king. He also says he is the Undertaker laying down and losing to Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 30, but the difference is Heyman can get up and continue. He talks up Cesaro, who faces Sheamus. Cesaro earns the win when Heyman distracts Sheamus, which allows the King of Swing to hit a bridging German suplex. Sheamus tries to shake hands after the match but Cesaro does the "brush the hair back" fake out, which draws some big cheers from the crowd.
Big E. faces Ryback in a Beat The Clock challenge match. The winner of the series of matches tonight with the fastest time gets a shot at Bad News Barrett's Intercontinental Championship at Payback. Big E. earns the win in 5:02 with the Big Ending.
R-Truth dances his way out with the Funkadactyls. Fandango dances out with Layla and they start making out, but Summer Rae comes out, dips Fandango and starts making out with him too. She and Layla start to brawl and Fandango drags Layla away from the ring.
Daniel Bryan's music hits, but Stephanie McMahon comes out doing the Yes! chant. She says Bryan has overcome every obstacle and that his chant has inspired millions. She says he is doing everything he can to get back to action because he is their champion and he knows the people need an active champion.
Stephanie says she's afraid she has some...and cuts to a video of Barrett saying "bad news." She announces she is stripping Bryan of the title and awarding it to Kane. Or she could award it to Barrett, or Batista or Triple H. But she says she is officially stripping him of the title and demanding Bryan show up on Raw next week to surrender the title.
The Shield is backstage and Ambrose says Evolution is afraid of them. He hopes not, because at Payback they want a fight. Roman Reigns again asks if that's all Evolution has and says they will never stop coming for them. Seth Rollins then says Batista couldn't finish him off two weeks ago on Friday Night Smackdown, but tonight he will not make any mistakes against The Animal.
Rob Van Dam beats Alberto Del Rio in 4:15 in the second match of the Beat the Clock challenge.
Renee Young interview John Cena, who says his game plan is the same as last week. He invites the Usos to keep the odds fair, but knows that tonight and at Payback he will walk into an arena of Wyatt followers. Cena says they fear no man and they do the Matthew McConaughey chest thump.
Evolution is backstage and Randy Orton says they need to eliminate The Shield one by one at Payback. Triple H tells Batista to make sure Rollins does not make it to the pay-per-view, and he says he will do it by himself.
Seth Rollins comes out to face Batista in what is supposed to be a one-on-one match with no one from The Shield or Evolution at ringside, but Triple H comes out as the special guest ring announcer. He introduces the special guest timekeeper, Randy Orton. Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins come out on commentary. The fight of course devolves into a brawl and Triple H punches Rollins, which ends the fight in a disqualification. The Shield gets the upper hand, attacks Batista and stands tall.
Alicia Fox defeats Divas Champion Paige and steals King's crown after the match. She stands on the barricade, drinks some soda and poses.
Dolph Ziggler faces Mark Henry in the final Beat the Clock challenge match and hits the Zig Zag but cannot cover him quickly enough, so RVD becomes the No. 1 Contender to the Intercontinental Championship. RVD comes out to the stage, but Bad News Barrett hits him from behind. He cuts a promo about the U.K. set the time for the rest of the world and pledges to retain the title at Payback.
Adam Rose comes out to the ring where Renee Young tries to interview him, but the entire arena (including those in the ring) break out into song and dance. Young asks why he is going after Jack Swagger, and he says he just wants to have fun.
Swagger's music hits and he and Zeb Colter head to the ring. Colter tells Swagger to stand down and tells Rose he is dragging down his own country. Colter says he wants to settle things and starts to take off his vest, but Swagger cheap shots Rose and taunts the Exotic Express. Rose returns the favor and sends Swagger and Colter running away as the crowd starts to sing again.
Cena faces Harper in the main event and things break down toward the end as Bray Wyatt hit Sister Abigail on both Usos. Harper nearly steals the win, but Cena kicks out at two. He hits an AA on Harper but Rowan assaults him to cause the DQ. Bray hits Cena with Sister Abigail after the match. The Wyatts continue to assault Cena up the ramp, and Bray hits Sister Abigail again on the stage. He sings "He's Got The Whole World" as Harper counts to 10 as the show goes off the air.
