The 2014 NBA draft lottery takes place Tuesday night in New York. The top three picks in the June 26 draft will be decided, with picks 4-14 being determined by the inverse order of their records. All fourteen teams are in with a chance, albeit an unlikely one if the team aren't placed in the top-3 of best odds. Could a team, like the Cleveland Cavaliers perhaps, shock the world again and grab another valuable top-three pick, or will it go to the struggling (deserving) teams like the Milwaukee Bucks and the Philadelphia 76ers? Take a look at the odds below:
1. Milwaukee Bucks 25.0%
2. Philadelphia 76ers 19.9%
3. Orlando Magic 15.6%
4. Utah Jazz 10.4%
5. Boston Celtics 10.3%
6. Los Angeles Lakers 6.3%
7. Sacramento Kings 4.3%
8. Detroit Pistons* 2.8%
9. Cleveland Cavaliers 1.7%
10. New Orleans Pelicans* 1.1%
11. Denver Nuggets (via New York Knicks) 0.8%
12. Orlando Magic (via Denver Nuggets) 0.7%
13. Minnesota Timberwolves 0.6%
14. Phoenix Suns 0.5%
It looks likely that the top 3 will consist of Jabari Parker, Andrew Wiggins and Joel Embiid, but which teams are selecting and when will have a big impact on that. However, it's likely that whatever the case, this trio will remain the top 3, in some order or another. Should there be a system in place that differs to this one, or does this add some much needed excitement to proceedings?
ESPN will televise the lottery at 8 p.m. ET. It's not to be missed.
