Reports confirm that Michael Jace, star of the hit FX drama series "The Shield," was detained and questioned on Monday evening (May 19) for the murder of longtime wife, April Jace.
Details surrounding the shocking death still remain unknown. According to ABC News, Mrs. Jace was fatally shot around 8:30 p.m. in Los Angeles' popular Hyde Park neighborhood. The Jaces were married for nine years.
The 48-year-old actor plays Julien Lowe on "The Shield" - a Christian who is conflicted about his sexuality. He also starred in hit films including "Forrest Gump" and "The Replacements."
The LAPD responded to a domestic violence incident at the Jace's home on Monday night. Apparently, the "State of Play" star called police and told them that he shot his 40-year-old wife. According to TMZ, he simply stated, "I shot my wife." When cops arrived, they found April dead at the scene from gunshot wounds. Mr. Jace was taken in for questioning, and formally charged for murder on Tuesday morning (May 20).
