Marvel Comics reveals a bit more about their next Avengers/X-Men event. With just one image, Marvel teases who their superhero teams will be fighting against in writer Rick Remender's highly anticipated Axis.
Comic Book Resources reports that Marvel revealed its next franchise/crossover event at the Diamond's Retailer Summit in Las Vegas. Fans have been anxiously awaiting to find out what Axis means, since the big event was first announced at the recent C2E2. The last time the Avengers and X-Men confronted each other, Professor Xavier died in the crossfire. What will happen this time around?
In the next comic book event, Axis means the Marvel super villains are gathering together to take down the superhero teams. If you look at the Previews cover, the baddest villains are huddled together in solidarity. According to Bleeding Cool, Loki, Carnage, Doctor Doom, Green Goblin, Sabertooth, and Red Skull are all part of the cover drawn by artist Jim Chueng.
The Red Skull, Captain America's greatest enemy, will be leading this Axis syper villain team. Like in the Captain America comics, the Red Skull has tried to conquer the world with the help of Hydra. Will the Red Skull prevail in his quest for domination, just like in the alternate timeline in Old Man Logan? In that aleternate universe, Red Skull ordered the massacre of every hero after uniting each big bad.
The cover teases lots of question about the comic book event. With Sabertooth in the gang, does this mean the evnt will take place after Wolverine's death? With the psychopath Carnage involved, does that mean Spider-Man isn't too far behind? How do power-hungry baddies like Loki and Doctor Doom even work together in a team like this?
In the upcoming event, Axis, the Avengers and X-Men have to team-up against Red Skull and his team of super baddies. Do the two superhero teams have a fighting chance against Sabertooth, Carnage, Doctor Doom, Loki, and Green Goblin?
