Phillip Phillips To Prove He's Not Just Another 'White Guy With A Guitar', Sings 'Home' Live at 83rd MLB All-Star Game [VIDEO]

American Idol Season 11 winner Phillip Phillips happens to be the 5th white guy with a guitar [WGWG] who won, however Phillips is quick to combat that generalization. Phillips is ready to prove to the world that he is a unique artist with a different sound than others with his upcoming album.

Phillips had explained to LA Times, "If [people who say that] paid attention to each person's artistry, then they would know the difference between a lot of us... Kris is different from David, David is different from Scotty, and I'm different from all of them. I feel like I play the guitar and approach music a lot different than they do."

After Phillips recovery from his kidney surgery, he has appeared on large stages along top musicians. He headlined the July Fourth celebration on the National Mall. He recently performed his coronation single "Home" at the 83rd MLB All-Star Game sharing the stage with Luke Bryan and Kellie Picket.

Phillips is also busy with the American Idol Live summer tour before kicking off his solo career full speed. Prior to the tour, he hit the studio and wrote songs to prep for his solo album set to release at the end of this year.
