Batman vs. Superman Movie Gets Official Title 'Dawn of Justice'

Ever since the announcement of Zack Snyder's Man of Steel sequel last year, fans and the media alike have referred to it as Batman vs. Superman. Now, the movie has an official title.

Warner Bros. unveiled the title as Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. The studio also released the official logo for the movie, which features Superman's famous S inside of Batman's wings. You can see it at the top of the page. Finally, the studio confirmed principal photography is underway on the film.

Dawn of Justice clearly sets up the already-announced Justice League movie. That movie does not have a release date yet, but fans who have been waiting for the Justice League to team up on screen finally have their first official indication that WB and DC Comics are moving towards that goal.

Batman V Superman is scheduled for release on May 6, 2016.

In other news, Kevin Smith said on his Hollywood Babble-On podcast that the recently released photo of Ben Affleck in the Batman costume does not tell the whole story.

"That's not a representation of what the suit looks like," Smith said. "So what the suit looks like, and I was always kind of keeping it quiet until they revealed it, but they've revealed it. And you can kind of see, and anybody that...you've seen some people take the picture and color it online. If you want to see what this f*cking suit looks like, you just go to Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns, go to the third book, Hunt the Dark Knight...it's the exact f*cking outfit he's wearing. That's why I hugged that guy all those months ago."
