Marvel Comics Teases ‘The Omega Hulk’ In Gerry Guggan & Mark Bagley’s Hulk #5! [Twitter Photo]

Marvel Comics teases an epic event for the indestructible green goliath. As a new writer takes over, the jade giant will face a new war that will erupt and shake the entire Marvel Universe in Hulk #5.

In the Marvel mythology, the emotionally reserved physicist David Bruce Banner was blasted with gamma radiation while trying to save Rick Jones during a science experiment. Just like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, Banner becomes the incredible Hulk when he unable to control his temper and unleashes his built-in rage. Many times, the Hulk and Banner have fought each other for control as host.

After previously taking on the Merc With A Mouth in Deadpool, Gerry Guggan will be going green and taking on Marvel's all-time favorite character. Not only will Guggan be taking over writing duties, he will also be introducing readers to "The Omega Hulk." In an interview with Marvel, the Hulk writer describes his story arc will be an "Armor Wars for the gamma-irradiated crowd."

As a fan of green monster, Guggan teases what readers should expect, "The really fun part for me is not just writing the Hulk, but writing for the human beings that transform into these Hulks. Rick Jones/A-Bomb is the first encounter, which is fitting since he was there at the very beginning." The author adds to the excitement, "'The Omega Hulk' is going to be a steel cage match. I'm hoping some of the better face-offs will be about wits, and not just punching. That said, there is going to be some 'capital p' punching..."

The Hulk scribe discusses his collaboration with artist Mark Bagley, "Luckily, Bagley is sticking around [as artist], and I couldn't be happier. He's got every gear I could wish for; he can do widescreen mayhem, and then go in close for the emotional beats." Guggan continues, "I'm a very lucky guy. I hope folks will join me for a fun war that's about to erupt in the Marvel Universe.

This August, readers will be anxiously awaiting for the arrival of "The Omega Hulk" in Hulk #5. As a new writer takes over in the fifth installment, let's hope fans will get their share of big action.
