Florence Welch of Florence and The Machine recently announced that their tour dates in Europe this week have been cancelled.  Welch "felt something snap" and was immediately advised by doctors to stop singing for a smooth recovery.

Welch wrote to fans on the band's official website, "Hello everyone, thank you so much for all your messages of support, yes its true ... it finally happened, I've lost my voice :(."

Welch expressed that she was desperate to still perform so that she wouldn't disappoint fans.  However, to prevent any permanent damage, the singer had to follow doctors' orders to rest.

"Hope I can make it up to you in the future, have an amazing time .. .yours croakily Florence," the note ended.

After the cancellation of the two shows in Europe, Flo added a new date to the summer US tour.
