Frank Ocean's Channel Orange early release on iTunes is currently rising up on the Billboard charts. An early leak of the album caused Ocean to put out Channel Orange exclusive on iTunes before the original release date July 17. Retailers can put the album out as soon as they receive the physical copies. However, Target has refused to carry the album according their store policy to not stock albums that released digitally earlier than the street date.
It is predicted that Orange may sell between 100,000 to 120,000 copies. According to analytics, these numbers are impressive considering that the album is not available elsewhere yet.
Ocean hit headlines last week for coming out of the closet as a gay man, and will be able to celebrate a victory that shows a growing acceptance for the minority group.
It looks like Ocean will be topping headlines again next with a possible number 2 spot on Billboard.
