It looks like Crowley will see some more screen time when Supernatural returns for Season 10 in the fall, as Mark Sheppard has been added as a series regular for the next year of the CW show.
[WARNING: SUPERNATURAL SEASON 9 FINALE SPOILERS BELOW]
It's unclear in how many episodes Sheppard will appear, but the man who brings the King of Hell to life is likely to be involved in numerous installments given the developments in the Season 9 finale. Now that Dean is a demon, Crowley will more than likely be there to guide his new soldier.
In related news, IGN asked Misha Collins, who plays Castiel, prior to the Season 9 finale how the show reached the milestone of Season 10, a mark not many shows reach.
"I don't know what the secret to our success is. I think it's largely our fans. We have an incredibly devoted, loyal group of fans who love the show, and I'm sure that we're where we are because of them," Collins said. "And I think that's also a show that allows in the writing so much freedom that it doesn't get boring. We're always doing something different, and that keeps people interested in the show. It hasn't gotten tedious. And I think that the characters have evolved. Not only the characters, but the actors themselves have evolved."
Collins also said the story with Metatron and Castiel would play out into Season 10, as would the problem of Castiel's grace. He also noted the writers would soon get back into the room to hash out Season 10.
