Memorial Day marked the unofficial start of summer, so what better time than now to take a look at the television schedules of series and season premieres for the coming months? This summer marks the debuts of new shows like The Strain and Crossbones, but it also brings some beloved shows back from hiatus like Orange is the New Black and Masters of Sex. Take a look at Mstars News' list of summer shows premiering this year!

Maybe the most exciting premieres come from brand new series. Here is our list of brand new shows debuting this summer:

The Leftovers (HBO)

We'll find out how the rest of the world deals with a rapture-like incident that made 2% of the population to disappear on June 29.

Crossbones (NBC)

John Malkovich is Blackbeard the pirate. Do we need to say more? This new series premieres May 30.

The Strain (FX)

This new series from Guillermo del Toro premieres July 13 and boasts some of the creepiest teaser trailers of the year. It's a new horror show about vampires that could make the bloodsuckers scary again!

The Knick (Cinemax)

Clive Owen stars as a turn-of-the-century doctor trying to make improvements to the world of medicine, premiering August 8. This 10-episode season has director Steven Soderbourgh in charge for each episode, too.
