The WWE Payback pay-per-view will air Sunday from Chicago, and the card has finally taken shape less than a week before the event. Here is the updated card with the officially confirmed matches.
The Shield vs. Evolution, No Disqualification Elimination Match
John Cena vs. Bray Wyatt, Last Man Standing Match
Paige vs. Alicia Fox for the Divas Championship
Bad News Barrett vs. Rob Van Dam for the Intercontinental Championship
Sheamus vs. Cesaro for the United States Championship
El Torito vs. Hornswoggle in a Mask vs. Hair Match on the Pre-Show
Daniel Bryan will also have a segment with regard to his WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
Other rumored matches that could be added/confirmed later this week include The Usos vs. Luke Harper and Erick Rowan for the Tag Team Championships, Adam Rose vs. Jack Swagger and Rusev vs. Big E.
In other news, rumors had been swirling that WWE would move Friday Night Smackdown to a live show on Tuesday nights, but the company did not give any indication as such in its recent remarks. The only comment is that Smackdown currently airs on Friday nights, so it seems like the show is staying put in its current format for now.
Finally, some have suggested WWE could go private in the wake of their stock price plummet recently, but that does not seem to be a possibility, as those within WWE reportedly feel their status as a public company gives it legitimacy and mainstream acceptance that it would not have otherwise.
