England's soccer team is heading to America for their final 2014 World Cup preperation, but before they jet off they have one last home fixture against Peru, who will not be in this year's World Cup. This will be the last game before their trip to the US and Brazil, for Roy Hodgon's men to impress and earn themselves a starting birth. Can Wayne Rooney, Steven Gerrard and Daniel Sturridge lead England to a much needed, confidence-boosting victory?
The game will kick off at 3:00 p.m. EST. (8:00 p.m. in England).
Location: Wembley Stadium, London, England.
FULL TIME: ENGLAND 3-0 Peru (Daniel Sturridge 32m, Gary Cahill 64m, Phil Jagielka 69m).
FOLLOW BELOW FOR A UP TO THE SECOND LIVE TEXT COMMENTARY OF ENGLAND VS PERU:
16:53: 83,578 fans were inside Wembley Stadium to watch England's last home game before the 2014 World Cup. England win 3-0. They never looked liked losing and they got better throughout. They will need to be much, much better in Brazil, though.
16:46: Daniel Sturridge is the man of the match.
16:40: Young starlet Ross Barkley is on for the last 8-10 minutes.
16:28: Phil Jagielka must of been jealous of his defensive partner Gary Cahill, as he's just slotted a scrappy, dropped ball home to make it 3-0 to England.
16:23: Wayne Rooney has gone off for Raheem Sterling. A swap that makes sense. Rooney needs to be protected for the World Cup and Raheem needs some extra experience.
16:22: Gary Cahill scores a header from a corner, making it 2-0 to England. Powerful header directed furiously past the Peru players.
16:18: Little happening in the second team, but with nothing to play for, both teams are looking to score, which should make for an exciting finish to this friendly match.
16:03: The 2nd half has started.
HALF TIME REVIEW: England have been the better side throughout, but they will need more in their 2014 World Cup matches. Joe Hart has made two fine saves, and Daniel Sturridge has scored a sensational goal, and missed one other key chance. Hart and Sturridge look to be key players in Brazil next month.
15:46: HALF TIME: England 1-0 Peru
15:45: Peru run through on goal, but Joe Hart races out to push the ball out of bounds for a Peru corner. Peru do little with the resulting corner.
15:32: GOAL FOR ENGLAND. England 1-0 Peru: Daniel Sturridge takes the ball in to the area, moves away from three defenders and rockets the ball in to the top left corner, giving the Peru goalkeeper no chance at all.
15:19: England nearly concede, but run the full length of the field. Daniel Sturridge hits the shot a few inches wide. Best chance of the game.
15:18: Little happening so far. If England can find some confidence from somewhere this could be a rout, considering the amount of space they've got to work with.
15:08: Peru have shown glimpses of promise going forward during the early stages.
15:03: We are underway in London. Early control for England.
