With her black bangs and brood of black cats, Emily the Strange is about to take on the music industry. Dark Horse Comics presents a twisted rock and roll adventure in Rob Reger, Mariah Heuhner, and Cat Farris' Emily And The Strangers: Breaking The Record #1.
In the 1990s, Rob Reger originally created Emily the Strange to be an advertising mascot character. She first appeared as a graphic on some skateboards, slowly becoming a brand name. Her face, usually drawn in black and white, was stamped on T-shirts, records, and coffee mugs.
Emily is not the typical 13 year-old girl you would normally see. Because pink is her worst nightmare, the child wears the same black dress every single day. Her best friends are four moody black cats, named Sabbath, Miles, Nee Nee, and Mystery. Now the Goth girl and her pets are going on her latest rock and roll adventure with a new entourage.
Though she never grows old, things have changed for the little mascot. Chloe Moretz (Kick-Ass) has been attached to play the titled-character in her feature film. In the comic book realm, the loner now has friends who she actually like and get along with.
Plot Synopsis:
Emily-and her new band, the Strangers-won the battle of the bands and received a record contract with Awesomely Awesome Records, but can the girl who just figured out how to get along with her friends manage dealing with a major corporation?
