Reports confirm that aspiring rapper OTF Nunu (real name, McArthur Swindle) was tragically shot and killed outside of a popular Chicago mall on Saturday (May 31). Authorities believe the drive-by parking lot shooting was likely gang-related.
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, an unidentified suspect approached Nunu's SUV and opened fire at Chatham Village Square Mall (located in the city's South Side). Complex also reports that the 21-year-old emcee tried to escape and drive away, but he was already seriously injured with several gunsot wounds. He ultimately crashed his vehicle into a store window-front, and was later pronounced dead.

Cook County police believe the incident could be gang-related, although Nunu's aunt (Sherri Swindle) insists her nephew was not involved in such troublesome activity.
Before his tragic passing, Nunu (also known as Nuski) was finishing-up his debute mixtape, Nuski Got Da Strap. According to studio-owner Merk Murphy, "This was going to be his big breakout project... He was one of those kids who saw an opportunity to put himself in a better position with his music" (via Chicago Sun-Times).
While recording his album, Nunu was currently taking college courses in nearby Joliet, Illinois. Now, the rapper's Aunt Sherri is calling for an end to such disturbing gun violence:
"It needs to stop... He was a good person. He was a kindhearted person. He had a lot of soul."
Nunu was also the cousin of fellow rapper, Lil Durk.
