Rumors suggest that Robert Pattinson is ready to take a break from acting, and perhaps pursue a solo music career. In fact, the "Twilight" hottie's apparently getting some on-one-one advice (and action) from "Dark Horse" beauty, Katy Perry!

R-Patz allegedly had a "secret fling" with John Mayer's ex in the past - the sexual tension was simply "unbearable." So, now that the 29-year-old songstress is helping the 28-year-old British heartthrob with his musical aspirations, will a romantic relationship eventually bloom?

According to Now magazine, a friend "close to Pattinson" reveals that the "Maps to the Stars" actor "has been recording his own solo album after years of playing smaller gigs in pubs across London." And he's finally ready to take this passion to the next level - alongside Perry.

R-Patz really wants to record some duets - especially with the "Fireworks" beauty. (FYI - Perry is a gal pal of Pattinson's "Twilight" ex, Kristen Stewart).

Wonder if that'll cause any tensions, considering Pattinson still "keeps in touch" with his on-and-off again girlfriend?
