True Blood will premiere its seventh and final season on HBO on Sunday, June 22 at 9 p.m., and many fans are expecting a crazy, action-packed Season 7 that throws everything but the kitchen sink at the viewers. According to star Sam Trammell, those fans are more or less on target.
Trammell's character, also named Sam, is now mayor of Bon Temps. Unfortunately, the Season 6 finale ended with the humans who do not carry Hepatitis-V pairing up with vampires, while a pack of infected vamps swarms Bellefleur's. So not exactly the best time to be mayor.
"It's pretty nuts, it's a tough town...There's some serious stuff coming our way with those vampires," Trammell told E! News at The Fault in Our Stars premiere. "It's an insane season, it's great. People are going to love this final season."
Trammell also admits his character "went off the rails there for a couple episodes." Now, as the final season approaches, the actor acknowledges the bittersweet atmosphere on set.
"All of us, we're really sad. It's been seven years. We're in the last month of shooting so we're saying goodbye to this set or that actor...It's just a fun world where anything can happen," he said.
In other news, a second official trailer for the final season of True Blood has dropped, and you can check it out here. Note the conspicuous absence of a certain tall, blond, Swedish-looking vampire.
