Archie Comics continues to dive into the horror genre using their popular teen titles. Sabrina the Teenage Witch is about to become the new zombie slayer in writer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and artist Robert Hack's Sabrina.
As reported here, Archie Comics has announced their upcoming horror series, Sabrina. This will most likely be the sequel to their best-selling hit, Afterlife with Archie Vol.1: Escape from Riverdale. Here are five reasons to be excited about Sabrina.
5) This Takes Place Within Afterlife With Archie
In the story arc, Sabrina's aunts banished her for a year, without her magical powers, in the Nether-Realm. This isn't some story where Sabrina returns and saves the day. Not going to happen in this series. By the time Sabrina arrives to the party, everything about Riverdale is gone and it's all her fault.
4) Robert Hack Is Drawing Sabrina
Hack will be drawing variant covers for The X-Files: Year Zero from IDW Publishing. The Life with Archie has also done great work on Doctor Who: Prisoners of Time. The cover artist knows his horror, especially with Kolchak Necronomicon.
3) Francesco Francavilla Is Drawing A Variant Cover For The First Issue
Francavilla is the artist responsible the awesome color scheme and gory images inside Afterlife with Archie Vol.1. You just want to frame his drawings and put them on the wall. The Black Beetle artist will be illustrating a variant cover for Sabrina #1.
From his official Twitter, check out Francavilla's cover for Sabrina #1:

2) Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa Keeps The Writing Streak Going With Sabrina
Aguirre-Sacasa is the screenwriter of the Carrie remake, starring Chloe Moretz and Julianne Moore. The Big Love writer knows how to blend horror and comedy, as witnessed in the Afterlife with Archie series. I can't wait to see what the Glee writer has in store for Sabrina the teenage witch.
1) Meet The Dark Side Of Sabrina the Teenage Witch
This isn't the Melissa Joan Hart we know from the live-action TV series. Sabrina's aunts kept her from saving her friends when they needed her the most. Maybe she will have to take on zombie Jughead and his army of the undead.
Sabrina will be out in stores in October, just in time for Halloween. In stores now, make sure to pick up Afterlife With Archie Vol.1: Escape From Riverdale here.
