Ever since Daniel Bryan won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and Brock Lesnar conquered the Undertaker's undefeated streak at WrestleMania 30 (you may have heard Paul Heyman mention the latter), fans had penciled in Bryan vs. Lesnar for the title at SummerSlam in August. A new report suggests WWE has done the same.

The Wrestling Observer reports WWE has planned the match for the Aug 17 pay-per-view; however, there are numerous obstacles in the way. That same report notes Bryan's rehabilitation is not going as well as expected, and the champion is even losing some strength in his right arm.

Therefore, WWE's plans for Bryan and the championship are extremely up in the air depending on how the rehab goes. Stephanie McMahon announced on Monday Night Raw that, if healthy, Bryan will face THE DEMON KANE in a Stretcher Match at the Money in the Bank pay-per-view. If Bryan cannot physically compete, then the Money in the Bank Ladder Match will be for the vacated WWE World Heavyweight Championship. This appears to be both part storyline and part real life.

It stands to reason, then, that WWE's plan would change greatly if Bryan cannot participate at Money in the Bank because a new champion would emerge from that event. Of course, if Bryan is not available, then one wonders what the company does with Lesnar at the second-biggest show of the year. There have been rumors of a Cesaro face turn and a match with Lesnar, so that could be a viable backup plan if Cesaro turns on his current manager.
