Clark Gregg, who portrays Agent (or should we say Director) Coulson on Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., joined the growing list of celebrities to participate in an AMA, or Ask Me Anything, on Reddit. The actor dropped some teases for Season 2 of the show during the course of the broadcast, including some connections to a couple of Marvel heroes.
Firstly, Gregg commented that the developments in Season 1 regarding his resurrection mean he could probably do some heavy lifting without breaking a sweat:
"Do you think Coulson is worthy enough to pick up Thor's hammer?
In the past, I would say no. But now with the magical blue alien blood coursing through his veins, I suspect the hammer won't be much of a problem for Phil."
He's more than likely joking, but it seems evident that the effects of that blood will show themselves in the show's second season. Recall the first season ended with Coulson scribbling what seemed to be alien symbols on the wall.
Another fan asked which character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe he would like to play besides Coulson, and he responded "Captain Marvel." Man fans suspected that the blue alien from whom the blood came is actually a Kree, an alien race from the comics. Captain Marvel was born when a Kree joined with a human named Rick Jones. Again, this could all just be circumstance, or perhaps Gregg is hinting at something larger.
Finally, a fan asked if Coulson ever got his Captain America card from The Avengers signed. In the movie, Coulson keeps trying to get his hero to sign the cards, but Loki kills him and his death brings the Avengers together as a team.
"That's a very good question," Gregg replied. "If I were you, I would check out Season 2 of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D."
