After showing up on Arrow and starring in their own animated feature, Batman: Assault on Arkham, DC Comics has more plans for the team of villains. Writer Sean Ryan and artist Jeremy Roberts have added three new team members that will shake up the New Suicide Squad.

In the DC Universe, when the government needs someone to take on highly classified black-ops missions, they hire the super villain team, Suicide Squad. Each member of Task Force X is a captured prisoner sentenced to life in prison. Once the mission is completed and the team comes out alive, their prison sentence gets reduced.

In the upcoming New Suicide Squad, team leader Amanda Waller has picked out three new players to the team. Deathstroke the Terminator has been an ally to the Teen Titans and an enemy as he tried to kill the superhero team. A nemesis to Aquaman, Black Manta saved the day with Lex Luthor when the Crime Syndicate took over in Forever Evil. Duela Dent, the Joker's Daughter, is actually wearing the face of her supposed "father."

Roberts discusses adding Deathstroke, Black Mantra, and Joker's Daughter to the lineup, "The different personalities create an interesting team dynamic, and I think Sean [Ryan] has done a great job of capturing that through the character's actions and dialogue. For me, Deathstroke and Black Manta are just great characters -- and they're fun to draw."

Ryan explains what will happen with Amanda Waller and the aftermath of Forever Evil, "When the United States wants to see something happen overseas, but can't be seen actually doing it, they'll send over the Task Force X. That way it just looks like super villains doing what they usually do." Ryan continues, "Waller is being watched more closely because of her failures during Forever Evil and because Task Force X has become so important, she can't just do whatever she wants anymore."

New Suicide Squad #1 hits stores on July 9. Readers, are you excited to see Deathstroke and Joker's Daughter joining Task Force X?
