Nicholas Sparks is at it again.

The romantic novelist, who has seen many of his film become adapted for the silver screen, is giving all of the hopeless romantics out there a treat today.

The new trailer for his novel "The Best of Me" has just been released. While we will have to wait until October to see the full story, the trailer paints a pretty good picture of what moviegoers can expect.

From the teaser, we can tell that the movie will be told in a very Notebook-esque way, including flashbacks and present day storylines. James Marsden, who actually starred in The Notebook, as Allie's army boyfriend who she left for Noah, will take center stage for this adaptation. His love interest, Michelle Monaghan, also has her fair share of romantic movies on her resume including 2008's Made of Honor.

Relative newcomers Liana Liberto and Luke Bracey will star as young Amanda and Dawson respectively.

In very much the same vein as his other films/books, the story revolves around a lower-class, trucker driving, southern guy (Dawson) who falls for an upscale girl (Amanda) whose Daddy disapproves of the relationship. After what looks like a summer of crazy, romantic fun, including kissing in the rain, and passionate love making in front of a fireplace, the two go their separate ways only to be reunited twenty-years later.

Watch the trailer above, and tell me that you don't get chills, when Marsden tells Monaghan, "you aren't just someone I loved back then, you are the very best of me."

We are definitely going to be rereading the book this summer in anticipation for the film, which will be released on October 17.
