Happy Birthday to Mr. Kanye West!!!

The newlywed rapper celebrates his 37th birthday today, June 8, and while we don't have a cake for him, we are celebrating the "Bound 2" singer by counting down the top five most controversial Kanye West moments ever.

5. The "Jesus Walks" Rolling Stones Cover.

The rapper has likened himself to Jesus (a la John Lennon) in the past, but he took it one step too far when he posed as him on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine. West even donned a crown of thrones around his head while the photo depicts blood running down his face. Kanye's single "Jesus Walks" won him a Grammy in 2005, where he defended the magazine cover saying, "You want me to be great but you don't ever want me to say I'm great?" The rapper has even taken to the name Yeezus to further compare himself to Jesus.

4. The Live 8 Concert.

During a concert tour that was to help raise money and awareness for AIDS and global poverty, Kanye had some conspiracy theories to share with the audience. During the Philadelphia leg of the tour, the rapper claimed to concertgoers that AIDS was a "man-made disease" which was "placed in Africa just like crack was place in the black community." He has been pretty vocal about this theory during his career, even mentioning it in his 2005 single "Heard 'Em Say." In the song he raps, "And I know the government administered AIDS, so I guess we just pray like the minister say."

3. His Fashionably Late Arrival To Squid Brained Bonnaroo.

Fans at the 2008 Bonnaroo music festival did not seem too happy to see Kanye West, who ended up being two hours late for his time slot at the festival. He finally went on stage at 4:30 in the morning and the audience members were pissed. The crowd was so mad that the following day during Robert Randolph's set he got them all to chant "Kanye Sucks!"

West responded to the incident in his blog afterwards. "I'm typing so f---ing hard I might break my f---ing Mac book Air!!!!!!!! Call me any name you want ... BUT NEVER SAY I DIDN'T GIVE MY ALL!"

He even goes as far as to blame Bonnaroo's employees. "WE WERE OBVIOUSLY DEALING WITH F___ING IDIOTS WHO DIDN'T REALLY HAVE THE CAPACITY TO REALLY PUT ON THIS SHOW PROPERLY. THEY TRIED 2 GIVE ME A TIME SLOT WHERE IT WAS STILL LIGHT OUTSIDE ... I HAVE A F___ING LIGHT SHOW DUMB A__, IT'S NOT CALLED GLOW IN THE DARK FOR NO REASON SQUID BRAINS!"

2. The "Bush Doesn't Care About Black People" Quote.

West let President Bush have it during a telecast to help raise money for those affected by Hurricane Katrina. Kanye went a little bit off the script when he said "George Bush doesn't care about black people." His co-presenter Mike Myers just stood there trying not to draw attention to the crazy accusation that he just heard. The broadcast quickly switched to two new presenters and cut the quote from their future airings, but by that time, Kanye had already made his opinion known.

1. The infamous Beyoncé had the "best video of all time" speech.

Taylor Swift's acceptance speech for Best Female Video of the year at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards was short-lived after Kanye jumped up on stage to let her know that Beyonce's "Single Ladies" video was "the best video of all time!" In an interview with People magazine Swift said "I was standing onstage, and I was really excited because I'd just won the award [for song "You Belong With Me"], and then I was really excited because Kanye West was onstage. And then I wasn't excited anymore after that."
