With heartbreak hitting Lorna Morello (Yael Stone) last week, this week has her facing her inner demons.
Morello now knows her beloved Christopher MacLaren has set a wedding date with another woman, a date she had set for their own wedding. She continues about her day by driving the van for Miss Rosa (Barbara Rosenblat) to receive her chemotherapy. When Correctional Office Susan Fischer (Lauren Lapkus) asks about the wedding planning, "We're holding it off for a minute. Just pressing the pause button for a minute. Too many people want to come, you know, I got a big family..."
Fun Fact: Miss Rosa informs everyone she has been married three times, well the third didn't want to marry because the two previous had died.
In her past, Morello used to run a mail fraud through online shopping. She bumps into Christopher at the post office and drops all of her boxes. He invites her out for coffee, but apparently that's all that happened between them. Morello becomes obsessed with him and begins stalking him. When he meets his current fiance, Morello begins threatening to kill the both of them. He testifies against her and she simply chalks it up to him being over-dramatic.
When Miss Rosa receives her treatment, Morello studies a map and goes to Christopher's house. With no one home, she breaks in and explores their life. She tries on the fiance's veil and takes a bubble bath, but her day dreaming is cut short when Christopher comes home unexpectedly. She jumps out the window will all of her stuff and makes it back on time to the hospital.
In all of Morello's delusions, you can't help but feel bad for her. A true romantic at heart, she was swept up in the chance of having someone love her. She has worked herself into a fantasy, but she slowly seems to be breaking back into reality with her ability to realize her self-destructive manner. However, when she's back in the prison she continues planning her wedding publicly.
Back at the prison, all the women are amazed in the mysteries of the female anatomy but are slightly confused about how everything works. Sophia Burset (Laverne Cox) sets everyone straight, as she tells them she's studied the landscape heavily because she built one for herself.
The studying of the landscape turns into an art-form when Carrie "Big Boo" Black (Lea DeLaria) and Nicky Nichols (Natasha Lyonne) decide to have a contest to see who can sleep with the most women in the prison, guards included. This competition springs up after Nichols hooks up with Brook Soso (Kimiko Glenn), one of the new inmates who follows Piper Chapman (Taylor Schilling) around like a lost puppy. Big Boo is jealous and wants Soso to be her prison wife, essentially, but can't win her over naturally. She strikes up a deal with Chapman to exchange Miss Claudette's old blanket for Soso's company, but Soso is not up for it. Soso runs away and cries, only to be consoled by Nichols.
On the unrequited love theme, Poussey Washington (Samira Wiley) makes a move for Taystee (Danielle Brooks) but is turned down. Taystee is straight, unfortunately for Poussey. Vee (Lorraine Toussaint) sees the public-display-of-affection and warns Taystee to stay away from Poussey because people on the outside will give her trouble for being "gay for the stay." Vee also pushes that no one knows Taystee like she does, which leaves Taystee in a tough spot in deciding what has more value: a best friend or a mother.
Following the proposition theme, Galina 'Red' Reznikov (Kate Mulgrew) proposes to Joe Caputo (Nick Sandow) that the Golden Girls (the elder ladies of the prison) should fix up the green house and start gardening as a new hobby. He allows it, as he is trying to push his way into leadership's eyes. Luckily for Red, she previously discovered a sewer drain underneath the floorboards of the green house. A chance for escape? Go Red, go!
On the outside, Polly Harper (Maria Dizzia) and Larry Bloom (Jason Biggs) are spending more time together with Polly and her husband Peter Harper's baby boy. They play house together and become oddly comfortable with each other. Pete and Piper's absences in their lives are obvious, but the void Polly and Larry fill for each other seem to be bigger than the spaces left open.
Do you think Polly is going too far with Larry? Do you think Red is planning an escape? Will Taystee and Poussey's friendship outlast their prison sentences? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
