Disney Infinity releases their second expansion to their 2.0 Marvel Superheroes videogame. Swing into action in the "Spider-Man Play Set" as the wall-crawler fights to save New York City from his toughest villain.

In their development of the Disney Infinity sequel, Avalanche Studios split the videogame into two different modes, the Play Set and the Toybox. "The Spider-Man Play Set" is written by Brian Michael Bendis, best known for his Ultimate Spider-Man comics. Spider-Man, Iron Fist, and Black Cat assemble to take down Venom and his Symbiote army.

In the game's story, Venom has been captured by Norman Osborn, the Green Goblin. In the OSCORP labs, Goblin, Mysterio, and Doctor Octopus experiment on the alien costume, taking a sample off from the living organism. What these super villains don't understand is that Eddie Brock and the alien creature are connected to one another.

In the Marvel Universe, Peter Parker became one with an alien being, which advanced his superhuman powers to another level. But when the extraterrestrial tried to takeover, Peter fought back and forced the alien out of his system. Eddie Brock then served as the next host and became known as Venom.

As the video continues, we realize Goblin wanted to clone the interstellar costume and raise an army of symbiotes to take down S.H.E.I.L.D. You just cannot trust a baddie named Venom in this game. Venom controls the symbiote army and orders them to take down Spidey and friends.

Disney Infinity: Marvel Superheroes (2.0 Edition) is expected to hit stores sometime in September. Readers, are you excited to see Spider-Man fighting against Venom in this videogame?
