Whenever there is a comic book convention in town, you can expect many people to dress up like their favorite superhero in tights, whether it be Batman or Superman. At the Special Edition: NYC convention, cosplayers came out in droves to show off their fashionable homemade costumes.

My favorite of the best costumes is the guy who dressed up like the menacing Shredder. Not only does this guy looked bulked-up, he has the decapitated heads of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The male cosplayer sculpted each of the four brothers with a different screaming facial expression. Is something like this going to happen the latest TMNT movie?

The female cosplayer put in a lot of detail her Storm costume. The costume designer looks perfect in the black cape and matching wardrobe. Straight from the X-Men comics, she has her punkish Mohawk hairstyle. This live-action version of Storm even has the perfect pose with the hands pointed straight out.

In the Doctor Who series, his most feared enemy has to be the Cyberman. The cybernetic humanoids seek to increase their numbers by transforming others into perfect machines. This designer had to fabricate the fancy metallic armor on a simpler budget.

It's like Halloween came super early to the Big Apple. You have your Batman Beyond and your Spider-Man 2099 amongst the packed crowd. Rogue is there in the crowd and her wonderful costume was made by a seamstress in Flordia. Can anyone explain to me why someone would dress up as Daft Punk at a comic book convention?

At the Special Edition: NYC convention, cosplayers designed their own homemade costumes and dressed up as their favorite superhero. Readers, which one do you think is the best costume?
