"Some people wait a lifetime for a moment like this."
Kelly Clarkson is officially a mom.
The original American Idol winner gave birth to a baby girl on June 12th. The songstress revealed the news on Twitter this past weekend.
"Our baby girl River Rose Blackstock arrived on June 12th! Thank you everyone for all of your well wishes. Brandon and I are on cloud 9!! :)"
Kelly welcomes her new daughter with husband Brandon Blackstock, a talent manager. The two were married back in October at a ceremony which took place at Tennessee's Blackberry Farm resort.
Clarkson is definitely a fan of posting breaking news to her Twitter account. The singer also announced that she was pregnant via the social media site back in November, writing, "I'm pregnant!!! Brandon and I are so excited! Best early Christmas present ever :)"
The "My Life Would Suck Without You" singer has been pretty outspoken over the rough pregnancy that she has experienced, telling Ellen DeGeneres that she vomits "a good dozen times a day." She also told the talk show host when she appeared on her show earlier this year that the couple had picked out unisex names for the new baby.
Brandon is the stepson of country legend Reba McEntire, who has been a close friend to Clarkson for a while now, the singers has even recording a duet together for Clarkson's song "Because of You."
This is Kelly's first child and Brandon's third. He has two other children from a previous relationship, Savannah, who is 11, and Seth, who's 7.
The couple didn't reveal any more details about their new bundle of joy besides the name and birthday.
