Several weeks ago, a photo of a large gray Superman statue surfaced from the set of Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice. That statue continued to pop up in various set photos from the movie's current filming in Michigan. Now, some new scene details shed some light on the statue's purpose and clarify a few details about the movie.
Batman-News reports the statue, supposedly 15 feet tall, is in the movie to celebrate Superman's saving the planet in Man of Steel:
"My source on set said that they held a big ceremony to unveil the big Superman statue. Batman v Superman takes place about two years after the events of Man of Steel. Gotham and Metropolis news trucks and helicopters were on the scene to cover the Mayor's speech and the statue unveiling. Elementary school kids wore 'Superman Survivors' shirts and helped pull a sheet off the statue for the big reveal."
The photos showed the statue had no head, but the site further explains that it was still unfinished when the crew shot the aforementioned scenes and the film makers will complete the structure in post-production.
Latino-Review has also posted some more photos from the set that give some clear looks at the LexCorp building, as well as the Metropolis and Gotham news trucks and helicopters.
What do you think of this scene description? Does it make sense that the people would praise Superman in this way? What about the new photos of Superman's archenemy's business? Let us know your thoughts and opinions in the comments below.
