Casting Director, Twinkie Byrd Responds To Her Decision To Cast Zendaya As Aaliyah For Lifetime Film

Some of the fans of Aaliyah may not agree, but for one casting director she sees talent. The casting director that made the decision to cast former Disney star, Zendaya Coleman  as the lead actress for the upcoming Lifetime Aaliyah biopic is now speaking out about her choice.

MStars News previously shared that the new film entitiled, Aaliyah: Princess of R&B has been stirring up a lot of heat with fans, after the late singers family had no idea about the upcoming film, scheduled to be produced sometime this summer.

Although there is a lot of negative comments being said about the upcoming film, Twinkie Byrd is sharing some positive words on why Zendaya is the one. Byrd says Zendaya is the perfect person to play Aaliyah because she's a "triple threat."  The casting director said,

Zendaya embodies everything you want in a Actress to play Aaliyah. She is a Poised, Professional, STRONG Actress (studied at California Shakespeare Theater and American Conservatory Theater). A Triple Threat Actor, Singer Dancer. She LOVES AALIYAH and will do a Wonderful Job! She is of mixed ethnicity. Her name is Bantu (Zimbabwe) meaning "To Give Thanks".
