Fans of Bayside High School will be every excited about this latest movie news. Lifetime will be making an authorized behind-the-scenes movie based on the popular teen series, Saved by the Bell.

Let's flashback to a different time when audiences would wake up early Saturday morning to watch a teen soap drama. Viewers were anxious to find out if the popular cheerleader Kelly Kapowski (Tiffani-Amber Thiessen) would choose between the jock, A.C. Slater (Mark Lopez) or the cool guy, Zach Morris (Mark-Paul Gosselaar). No matter how many times she turned him down, Screech (Dustin Diamond) would never give up on his unrequited love for Lisa Turtle (Lark Voorhies). Let's not forget the father figure/principal Mr. Belding (Dennis Haskins) who watched over these kids.

According to Buzzfeed, Diamond previously wrote a scandalous tell-all book titled Behind the Bell. The former teen idol revealed what it was like be on the set of the popular NBC series. Cast members were sleeping together and dabbling in drugs, much worse than that time Jesse Sapano (Elizabeth Berkley) was hooked on caffeine pills.

Variety also states that the original Saved by the Bell casting director, Robin Lippin, has already picked out the actors and actresses for the Lifetime movie. When this program finally hits the airwaves, you'll definitely be looking at the kid's comedy a different way.

If you look at the Lifetime cast members, I'm wondering if the producers are thinking of ways of rebooting Saved by the Bell. Would this show work again if it was modernized for today's audiences?

The Unauthorized Saved by the Bell Story will air September 1 on Lifetime at 9pm. Readers, do you think this Lifetime original movie will ruin your childhood memories of the show?
