It was more than 20 years ago when Thelma & Louise hit the big screens and became a box-office champ. Now co-stars Geena Davis and Susan Saradon have reunited once more to replicate the original selfie pic they took in the film.
In the 1991 action/adventure flick, Thelma Dickinson (Davis) and Louise Sawyer (Sarandon) are on the run from the police after a near-rape leads to fatal shooting. The best friends are determined to travel from Oklahoma to Mexico. As they head west, detective Hal Slocumb (Harvey Kietel) keeps trying to persuade the fugitives to turn themselves in before matters get worse.
Mid-way through the Ridley Scott film, Thelma and Louise share some laughs before stepping onto their ill-fated road trip. The two stop to take of picture themselves together on a camera. This is was a "selfie" before becoming widely known in popular culture.
The leading lady co-stars came back together to recreate the shot from the iconic movie. The Bill Durham actress then posted the self-portrait, alongside with the original snapshot, on her official Twitter.
Sarandon writes, "Inventors of the #selfie at it again. #ThelmaAndLouise"

The selfie was actually taken at The Hollywood Reporter's cover shoot last week for Hollywood's 100 Favorite Films.

With Thelma & Louise under their belt, it was definitely nice to see Susan Saradon and Geena Davis back together again even it was for a selfie pic. Somebody put these two stars in another movie as soon as possible.
