DC Entertainment releases its first clip from their upcoming animated feature film, Batman: Assault on Arkham. The Joker is given a chance to shine in the spotlight in this new footage from the latest superhero film.
As mentioned here, Suicide Squad is a supervillain team hired by the government to take on highly classified black-ops missions. The group is put together when there is an operation so secretive, that even the Dark Knight must not know about it. Led by Dr. Amanda Waller, when Task Force X finally returns from their deadly mission alive, their prison sentence gets reduced.
In the plot, Waller has assembled Harley Quinn, Deadshot, and Captain Boomerang for their latest secret mission. The Joker, the clown prince of crime, has stolen a bomb and hidden the time-ticking device somewhere in Gotham City.
In the released clip, we see the locked-up Joker (Troy Baker) sitting on his prison bed, rambling about his ex-girlfriend, Harley. While he continues to talk to himself, the psychotic prankster is jealous that his ex has new boy toy in her life. The criminal mastermind suddenly notices the special message left for him on the wall of his prison wall.
In the video, Baker (Regular Show) explains how he trained his voice to sound similar to Mark Hamill's interpretation but still be his own take, "Obviously, what we did in Arkham Origins, we wanted to specifically point to Mark Hamill. We wanted people to believe it was the same Joker they've seen in the games. Let's face it! He is the quintessential Joker everyone knows for the last 25 years."
