Rumors broke out late last week that Nathan Fillion would appear in the post-credits scene of Guardians of the Galaxy as Richard Rider, aka Nova Prime. Now, director James Gunn has cleared up those rumors and confirmed Fillion's presence in the movie.
A Twitter user asked Gunn if the rumors were true about the Castle star's appearance in the movie, and the director replied he "has a very small fun cameo he did as a favor to me." Gunn also debunked the rumor that Fillion would play Nova, so now the guessing game begins as to which character he does play.
"The rumors of my pal @NathanFillion playing Nova in #guardiansofthegalaxy have been greatly (and entirely) exaggerated. Sorry, humans," Gunn tweeted.
Rumors had swirled and fans had predicted for quite a while that Richard Rider, who eventually becomes Nova Prime, would appear in Marvel's outer-space adventure. Latino-Review recently reported those rumors could be true, as the site said the after-credits scene in the movie would feature Nova. Furthermore, the site claimed, though it could not confirm, that Fillion would play the character.
In other GOTG news, the following comes from Latino-Review, which posted a report from someone who claims to have attended a test screening of the movie:
