Sebastian Stan portrayed Bucky Barnes aka the Winter Soldier in Captain America: The Winter Soldier earlier this year. After a climactic fight scene with Captain America (Chris Evans), the Winter Soldier rescues Cap from the Potomac River and disappears.
In a post-credits scene, the Winter Soldier visits a memorial to Bucky Barnes at the Smithsonian Institution. In the comics, the Winter Soldier actually becomes Captain America for a while after Steve Rogers is shot and seemingly killed. But could this happen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe?
Stan appeared at the Wizard World Philadelphia Comic-Con and someone asked him if he would like to take over as Captain America on screen one day.
"Yes. Yeah, I'll do it right now," he said, according to Comicbook.com. "Look, it's not up to me. I'm just showing up when they're calling me. I mean, that's it."
Stan also said he "wouldn't mind a little Black Widow/Winter Soldier story happening."
Stan is reportedly contracted for nine Marvel movies, so anything is possible, but we'll just have to wait and see if the Winter Soldier puts on Captain America's shield.
In other Marvel news, Comic Book Movie compiled information from multiple sources on the set of The Avengers: Age of Ultron who have spotted Chris Hemsworth, Samuel L. Jackson, Elizabeth Olsen, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Anthony Mackie and B.J. Britt (who plays Agent Triplett on Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) in costume.
One source also claims to have seen the Iron Patriot armor, though Don Cheadle was not there. As for the actual content of the scenes filmed, various photos and Instagram videos show the "Avengers Recruits" in training and Tony Stark arriving in an orange Audi. B.J. Britt, meanwhile, was apparently checking out a bike, which could belong to Captain America.
