CW fans already remember Caitlin Snow and Cisco Ramon during their guest appearance on Arrow. Now Danielle Panabaker and Carlos Valdes tease viewers on what's ahead for their TV alter egos in their spinoff series, The Flash.
In the Arrow episode, The Man Under the Hood, Felicity Smoak (Emily Brett Rickards) is on a trip to Central City to check up on Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) after being struck by lightning. In the storyline, Caitlin and Cisco are doing inventory work at their lab, talking about the explosion that led Barry to his comatose state. During the climax, the two S.T.A. R. Labs members were able to hold off Slade Wilson (Manu Bennett) from stealing something from their facility.
Caitlin and Cisco now make their way from guest stars to series regulars on The Flash. The same creative involved in the green archer series will also be running the spinoff.
Panabaker talks more about the transition, "It was so great to be on Arrow, with our same producers, Greg [Berlanti] and Andrew [Kreisberg], and to be surrounded by great people who have experience with the superhero world."
In the pilot, Barry wakes up and meets the duo for the first time. After being struck by lightning, Barry is going to need help learning how to use his super-speed powers.
Valdes explains what the dynamic is between them and the DC Comics superhero when he wakes up from his coma, "Essentially after he wakes up, there's a series of circumstances and a lot of characters in this pilot that help him become the Flash. We're a part of that."
Panabaker continues, "We're his support system. We're the guys behind-the-scenes helping him kick a**."
