Solange Knowles, Alan Ferguson Engaged On Birthday: Beyonce, Jay-Z Marriage Still Rocky?

Singer Solange Knowles is reportedly engaged to her boyfriend of 5 years, Alan Ferguson.

Beyoncé's baby sister reportedly celebrated her 28^th birthday Tuesday with an engagement ring from her 51-year-old boyfriend, according to MediaTakeOut.com.

In an interview with NecoleBitchie.com, the "Sol-Angel" singer revealed that she made the first move when she saw Alan, "Certainly, in the beginning I was the one who approached him so I have always sort of historically been one of those girls that goes after something that I'm into," she said. "I'm not very old school and like, I'm gonna wait on you. Wait for you to approach me type of situation. I have a lot of guy-like quintessential relationship qualities that I have had to work on."

The engagement would be the singer's second- she married high school sweetheart, Daniel Smith, after she had gotten pregnant with her son Julez. In an interview with Harpersbazaar.com, Solange gushed over her relationship with Alan admitting that she liked her steady relationship.

 "Luckily, I dated all of the losers ages ago. My love life has been stable for a while," she says, adding wryly, "It's a f**ked-up thing-without conflict it's a lot harder to write interesting songs."
