'Star Wars 7' Casting News, Rumors: Tom Cruise Met With Director J.J. Abrams About 'Episode VII' Appearance?

Considering all of the casting rumors surrounding Star Wars: Episode VII from the last year and into the current filming schedule, the latest star linked to the project has us scratching our heads. According to reports, Tom Cruise has met with J.J. Abrams about making an appearance in the 2015 movie! If this is true, what kind of a role will the Edge of Tomorrow star have in one of the biggest reboots of all time?

As far as having Tom Cruise involved in any movie goes - we're all for it. The legendary actor has been making some interesting film choices as of late, and we're all the better for it. His most recent movie, Edge of Tomorrow, has been praised as one of the best sci-fi films of recent years. Perhaps he's got the sci-fi bug that can only be cured with an appearance in Star Wars: Episode VII?

According to The Sun, while in London Cruise met with his Mission: Impossible 3 director to talk about a possible cameo in Episode VII.

Cruise's team has yet to respond to these rumors, so we can't confirm or deny the speculation. All we can really do is think of how the star would appear in the movie.

Will he be a Jedi or maybe even a Sith? Perhaps he'll appear as a smuggler like Han Solo? For now, we'll have to wait and see what comes from this new rumor, but it certainly has us excited!
