For roughly a decade LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony have dominated the NBA, all whilst going head-to-head to be the biggest and best superstar in the NBA. However, this week both stars have opted out of their contracts and will become free agents next week. The pair could stay with their current teams or choose to somewhere new. Could these one-time rivals become team-mates?

The idea of the pair of them playing together, at one time, seemed unthinkable, impossible even, but things have changed. Whilst Carmelo can rival LeBron on the court, one thing still eludes him. An NBA Championship, which James has won 2 times. Although Anthony can be a selfish player, even he appears to be prepared to be the No. 2 star and earn less money in his efforts to pursue a title.

There's talk of the pair playing in Miami. However, they could also join the Cleveland Cavaliers, James' former team. The Cavaliers have young talent and the No. 1 pick in this week's 2014 NBA Draft. So there's no doubting the quality these stars would surround themselves with. The Cavaliers could have a young, talented roster, with a ton of dominant experience, too. How far can this possible new-look Cavaliers team go next season?

A lot of these questions and rumours could be solved in the coming weeks. Where should this star duo go, and can they coexist? It's going to be a crazy few weeks for the NBA, but even more so for the Cleveland Cavaliers and their entire organization.
