The Biggest Loser is about to lose something more than just weight.

Jillian Michael has just announced she will not be returning to the hit NBC show when it starts up again this fall.

"After helping hundreds of contestants transform their lives and inspiring millions of viewers at home, The Biggest Loser and Jillian Michaels have decided to part ways and she will not be returning for season 16 when it airs in the fall," The network just released in a statement.

The weight lose instructor has been with the show since its debut in 2004. She left the show briefly, sitting out during season 12 and 13, but was back for the 14 and 15 season which just finished.

No news on why Michael's is leaving the show but it could possibly have something to do with the scrutiny the reality series came under when last years winner Rachel Frederickson had showed up to the reunion looking very unhealthy and skinny after dropping 155 pounds.

A few months ago sources revealed to E! New that after this incident Michael wanted to be done with the series. "She wasn't happy how last season went. The shocking weight loss of Rachel doesn't do the brand any favors and she wants to distance her name from it."

More details on the upcoming season will be available at a later time according to a rep for NBC, including if there will be plans to introduce a new coach to fill the place left by Michaels.

Season 16 will premiere on September 11 at 8 p.m. on NBC.
